About Me

Hello! I'm Mirela

Visual artist and photographer

My work explores the visible and invisible forces that shape individual and collective experience: how environments, social systems, and belief structures influence perception, behavior, and belonging.

I am interested in what is shown and what remains hidden, and in how divisions are constructed through fear, prejudice, and exclusion, but also in the creativity, connections, and expansions that can emerge from these same tensions.

I approach my practice as an inquiry into tension: between visibility and concealment, surface and depth. These contrasts guide how I think about images, spaces, and the relationships they establish with the viewer.

Working across painting and mixed media, I experiment with the collision of techniques and materials. Through layering, interruption, and material testing, I explore transformation as a way of examining how meaning is constructed and continually reconfigured.
