Ocean Eyes is the newest work in the Water and Oil Don’t Mix — Open Fields series. In this painting, oil and acrylic are layered on the same surface, allowing their natural resistance to create movement, dispersion, and organic formations that cannot be fully controlled. The image expands gently across the white ground, balancing calm and tension while remaining open and luminous.

Part of a broader investigation into coexistence and separation, the series explores how materials interact rather than merge, letting the painting emerge through negotiation instead of imposition.
