Urban Street Art Project: Arte nas Manilhas

An urban art initiative – promoted by Glen Art Gallery – transforming public concrete pipes into colorful public artworks.

Urban Street Art Project

On Saturday, November 23, a group of visual artists came together for a unique event in Aldeia da Serra, 30 km from São Paulo. The artists left their mark by painting 22 concrete pipes installed at strategic points throughout the area. These colorful pieces were transformed into durable public trash bins — resistant to weather and corrosion, each with capacity for up to 50 liters of waste. Designed to prevent theft or vandalism, they also make the work of local cleaners easier thanks to their wide openings for larger objects.

The initiative was organized by RA! Revista Aldeia da Serra and Glen Arte, with the generous sponsorship of Aldeia Cores and Tintas Coral, and the support of Restaurante Bendito Cacao.

Participating artists included Fernanda Potenza, Charles Chaim, Cris Conde, Eduardo Petry, Fábio Hota, Camila di Giacomo, Paty Domingues, Toledo Jr., Mirela Fiorese, Cecília Macedo, Paula Macedo, and Wilson Vitorino.

It was a beautiful day of art, community, and collective action!
